What is the concept behind the Payne Stewart Golf Club?

The Payne Stewart Golf Club is a truly unique concept course dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of Missouri’s own champion, William Payne Stewart. The centerpiece of The Branson Hills Development will take the golfer through a series of Payne Stewart memories, with each hole defining one of Payne Stewart’s traits of style, character good humor and high ideals and experiences on the PGA Tour. Payne Stewart Golf Club funds the Payne Stewart Foundation with lot sales and merchandise revenue sharing to continue the legacy for Payne’s loved ones.
How will the Payne Stewart Golf Club be different from other courses in the area?

The Payne Stewart Golf Club will offer Branson Hills’ residents country club amenities and golf membership opportunities of the finest quality. The golf course land use will preserve and incorporate the natural rock outcroppings, waterfalls and creeks and wooded areas into the design features. With the golf course yardage varying from 7400 to 3300, with five distinct teeing areas, challenging all caliber of golfers, the most accomplished Tour player, low to mid handicapper, our members and seniors, ladies and juniors.

The Payne Stewart Golf Club will host numerous local, state and national events and allow access to charitable fundraising opportunities and corporate functions. We will also house a Payne Stewart memorabilia display in the clubhouse and merchandise Payne Stewart’s unique fashion style in the Golf Shop. What is the status on completion for the Payne Stewart Golf Club?

We continue to be right on schedule with an anticipated Grand Opening for the end of June 2008. The completed project will include a beautifully designed clubhouse with amenities to comfort our members and guests. The speedy A-4 bent grass greens, and Meyer Zoysia fairways framed by native fescues in the transition areas are all being planted in this year’s growing season, which should provide the proper surfaces for play next year.
How is the Golf Club going to be an important part of Branson Hills?

As the centerpiece for the fun and fellowship, the golf course and clubhouse will be a valued addition to what will become the Ozarks’ best place to live and play.

Vince Gill Headlines Charity Golf Tournament in Branson, MO
BRANSON, MO — Dozens of folks in Branson hit the links for a good cause. The 2009 Woody & Vince Charity Golf Tournament was held this weekend at the Payne Stewart Golf Course. Musician Vince Gill was on hand to offer some music while 54 players hit the links. Other events included a putting contest and a charity auction.

"Payne Stewart was a good friend of mine, we played a lot of golf together," Gill said. "I think we had a friendship because he liked music like I liked golf."

"When they told me they built this golf course, and they were trying to do something as an unofficial grand opening, they said will you come up and play and sing, and I said sure."

All of Sunday's proceeds go toward The Skaggs Hospital Center for Women's Health.
